SKF Goa River Marathon

Amazingly fantabulous experience, dis it with complete lot of my running gang from national capital region of India. We all loved it to the core.

Goa River Marathon 2023 started at 4:00am; when I stepped out of my hotel room at 3:30am, the humidity walloped me. This is not a course to PR in; the humidity is too much. The course is good: it's a double out-and-back with one big hill, which you tackle right at the start and then again just after the halfway point. A lot of the course was slightly uphill or downhill, but nothing else significant. The course was very well-marked with km signboards, mostly accurate, and the overall course was extremely accurate; my Garmin read 42.3km at the end. Aid stations were plentiful but the quality varied: some had volunteers handing water and electrolytes out, others were just groups of teenagers ignoring the runners and looking at their phones. The course included a small detour over a little bridge to an island on the out part, not the return, which was nicely distracting. Organization was excellent, with good communication beforehand and easy bib pick-up. Medal was small and underwhelming, tshirt was fine. There is a post-race beer which was delicious. It's not a race I would return to because of the humidity, but I am glad I raced it this year.

It was excellently organised with a proper route / traffic planning and adequate fuelling stations and medical support. Loved it.

GRM is one of the most beautiful and well organised race event in Asia pacific, the scenic beauty of zuwari river add extra flavor to an event. Hope in coming future it will attract runner all over world and make it truly an international event.

Half marathon is definitely a dream run for those who wish to run 10 Km, because the scenic route which make it easy and comfortable.

Wow.. Awesome place Goa. I will definitely like to be part of this event and will definitely tell my friends and colleagues to enroll themselves for this event.
