Grand Raid de Camargue

Every year, the Grand Raid de Carmargue traverses the wild Camargue region in the south of France. Participants begin their journey amidst the traditional herds of bulls and horses (manades), and end at the walls of Aigues-Mortes. Along the way, they experience the unique heritage of this area while being challenged by the course. This event was created in 2015, born from the passion of Laurent Grenier for ultra-distance running and the culture of the Camargue. It seeks to combine sport with environmental, heritage, and health awareness. It is the first sporting event to be labeled by both a Natural Park and an eco-actor member of a Biosphere Reserve, and the organizers are currently working on an eco-responsibility charter with the Camargue Regional Natural Park, the Camargue Biosphere Reserve, and other natural area managers. The support of Aigues-Mortes is essential for the success of the event.
