Maratón de La Paz - Bolivia

Thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Communication before the race was excellent. The race director was even available on WhatsApp and answered all my questions promptly. It was very well administrated and the organisers were enthusiastic, friendly and helpful. Mainly downhill for the first 3/4 of the race with a few short, steep climbs. The last 1/4 is mainly uphill with a steep, challenging finish (I walked it!). I recommend being in La Paz at least a week before the race to accustom yourself to the altitude. You race alongside the traffic but it is heavily policed and the drivers were respectful. At no time did I feel unsafe. Definitely a race with a difference, sort of a trail race on tarmac. I am surprised that there were not more runners as a race "in the highest capital city in the world" is one to tick off, right? La Paz itself is great too. So much to see and do. I didn't have time to see everything so will be back for next year's race. A great race in a safe, welcoming and interesting city. Craig, UK.

La he corrido cuatro veces. Viene mejorando año a año Es una carrera organizada con mucho corazón Es un recorrido muy difícil, con una altimetria de aproximadamente 1200 mt ascenso y lo mismo de descenso , sumado al factor de la altura a nivel del mar En mi opinión deberían quitar el corte del km 31 y extender el horario de finalizar a 7 hs

Es la distancia que siempre corro. Pero esta supera el nivel de exigencia de todas

Schöne Sightseeing-Tour durch La Paz man muss sich nur in der Stadt auskennen damit man denn richtigen Weg immer nimmt. (26-30km etwas schlecht beschildert)
