COLES BAY HALF - SWIM COURSE (1.9KM) This iconic swim leg sets the tone for a unique event. The swim heads out directly off Muirs Beach into the crisp blue waters of the famed Great Oyster Bay. Once you hit the first buoy and turn right, you head toward Saffire Resort before taking 2 sharp rights and then swimming parallel to Muirs Beach. It’s impossible not to look up and enjoy the moment and the breathtaking views of Coles Bay. Once parallel to the start line it’s just a short swim to the beach before hitting the sand for a quick 100-metre run up from the beach through the crowds of spectators to find your bike in T1 in the Coles Bay Village Green transition area. COLES BAY HALF - BIKE COURSE (90KM) Leaving T1 via the northern end of the Coles Bay Village Green you'll head out of town along the Esplanade before turning left onto Coles Bay Road. The 3-lap bike course is a challenging but rewarding bike leg with undulating climbs and open fast descents by lap 3 you’ll have your gear selection dialed. After hitting the turning point just at the 15km/45km/75km mark, it’s a quick trip back to Coles Bay and into the exciting u-turn surrounded by supporters in town. On lap 3 you’ll dismount after the U-turn and turn hard left to enter T2. With staggered start times for the Sprint and Half races, you'll enjoy a less congested ride until you turn for home. Remember, safety first, as the road is open to other vehicles, so stay alert and take care at all times. COLES BAY HALF - RUN COURSE 21.1KM After dismounting your bike you’ll take a hard left entering T2 at the same point you left for the bike leg. Rack your bike before a quick change into run gear and racing out of T2 at the same sport you entered from the swim. When exiting the T2 shute, turn hard left and stay on the right hand side of the course. The run leg is truly special taking in the beautiful Coles Bay foreshore, the famous red rocks, and the Hazards all in a single 5km loop. An extension along Esplanade East gives you a little single-track fun at the Coles Bay boat ramp before re-visiting Muirs beach for the final kilometre of the lap. The new run course will preserve your run legs on laps 3 & 4 with far less time spent on the sand. COLES BAY SPRINT - SWIM (750M) This iconic swim leg sets the tone for a unique event.
