What better way to wrap up your summer than to run a fun race as a family?
Details:
Dates: Saturday, August 24th at 9:00am
Distances: 2.6 miles (the full), 1 mile, 200m dash
Location: park at Madison Manor Park near the W&OD trail in Arlington
The 2.6 miler and the mile run will be out-and-back, mostly flat courses along the W&OD Trail. Start/finish line will be on the trail near Madison Manor park. Route posted here. 200m dash will be a straight line - to be posted on the race day.
There will be one aid station at the turnaround point (1.3 miles), and all finishers will receive a medal.
For parents - or older kids - wanting to run a full 5k distance, you can register for the DLS 5k for Lewy Body Dementia. This 5k, directed by Coach Kate, as well, will raise funds for the progressive brain disorder that is the second most common form of dementia after Alzheimer's. Registration for the 5k is live here.
Timing will be done manually with a race clock and bibs (no chips).
