* Air Quality Update 6/8/2023 @ 4:30 p.m.
Kenmore 5k/walk participants – We wanted to let you know we are monitoring the air quality conditions in our area. The forecast is for clearing air over the weekend.
The Kenmore PTSA has decided that if the air quality in Arlington at 6:00 a.m. on Sunday, June 11th is red, purple, or maroon, we will, unfortunately, cancel the race. If the race is cancelled, an email will be sent to all participants no later than 6:30 a.m. on Sunday, June 11th. This decision is in line with Arlington County Department of Parks and Recreations recommendations. If the air quality in Arlington is orange, yellow, or green, the 5k/walk will take place. An interactive map of Arlington's air quality can be found at Air Now If the event is canceled, there will be no refunds, as stated in the event waiver located at the bottom of the event website (www.kenmore5k.com).
We urge participants to consider their own individual health circumstances and follow recommendations of their physicians regarding participation in outdoor activities during poor air quality situations.
Packet pickup is Friday, June 9th at Kenmore Middle School from 3:00 pm – 6:00 pm. Participants should come to Door 1/Main Entrance with ID to pick up their race number and t-shirt. Participants who registered after the May 24th t-shirt ordering deadline will be picking up only their race numbers. If the race takes place, packets and numbers may also be picked up on race day starting at 8:00 am at Kenmore Middle School.
Thank you for your understanding as we navigate this unusual situation.
