Abner Oakes III Veterans Run 5K & 10K

Proceeds from this event support the House of Heroes Connecticut, which serves military and public safety veterans and their spouses in Connecticut through no-cost home repairs. Since 2012, the organization has aided over 200 veterans, completing projects across 69 Connecticut cities and towns. The event honors Abner Oakes III, a Navy Veteran and founder of the Hamden Veterans Commission, inducted into the Veterans Hall of Fame. Through partnerships and community generosity, House of Heroes Connecticut aims to continuously expand its mission to assist the growing number of veterans both within the state and nationwide.
