关于赛事
We hope you will join us for the Whitman to Whitman 84 5K Run/Walk or Virtual Race on Sunday July 28, 2024. This is a trail run on the property of beautiful Lincoln Hill Farms in Canandaigua, New York. All proceeds and donations go to the Town of Gorham Historical Society Building Fund.
This race commemorates the 40th Anniversary of "Whitman To Whitman in 84". In 1984 the Marcus Whitman cross country team (boys and girls) ran from Rushville, New York to Walla Walla, Washington. (Marcus Whitman was born in Rushville and established a mission near what is now Walla Walla in the 1830s. There is a Whitman College in Walla Walla, thus Whitman to Whitman.)
The Town of Gorham Historical Society works diligently to preserve, research, and educate about our area's history. We have an opportunity to acquire a spacious victorian home in the hamlet of Gorham which would provide much needed space for displays and programming. The Building Fund supports this effort. Please consider donating when registering!
This race is entirely on trails and as such dogs, strollers, and headphones are NOT allowed.
