Supermaratona dell’etna

The SuperMaratona dell'Etna is the ultimate challenge for hikers and runners this year. With an "abnormal" distance, just above the limit of the usual 42.195 km marathon, and the difficulties of the high altitude, it will be one of the most beautiful vertical races in Europe. The participants will start in Linguaglossa, and run to Piano Provenzana (North ski resort) before taking the trail to 3000 meters and the finish line, 43 km later, at "Pizzi de Neri" (close to the Caldera "Valle del Bove"). This event is world-renowned and was even recorded in the Guinness Book of Records as the highest vertical race in the world. To meet the needs of all athletes, the management will provide two other races: the Super Mareneve (0-1800 m, 34.5 km) and the Super RoundTrip (1800-2800 m, 14.5 km). Participants must read the rules carefully and follow updates from the website and social networks. Italian participants must be either FIDAL members, Runcard holders, or members of a Sports Promotion Agency recognised by CONI and affiliated with ACSI. Non-members must present a valid medical certificate for athletic use. Foreign participants must also present a medical certificate. Transfers will be available from Linguaglossa to the starting point in Fiumefreddo di Sicilia, and from the finish line to Piano Provenzana, Piano Provenzana to Linguaglossa, and Marina di Cottone. All transfers must be booked in advance.
