Its hard to believe my first Snowdon Marathon was way back in 1995, but im still here twenty eight years later, wearing the same number (108) and enjoying it just as much as ever.
The best aspect of taking part, is the joy of seeing the regular faces, manning the various water stations, as well as the often challenging weather conditions.
Over the years, ive seen it all, sunshine, high winds, stair rod rain, from start to finish, thunder & lightening, snow, Bwlch Y Groes horizontal hailstones, you name it, the race has had it.
During those years, there has been four separate courses, and three different finishes, and i recon the current finish, on the high street is the easiest, as once your round the corner into Llanberis, you can sprint to the finish.
The race is beautifully organised, and enough of a challenge to make it an annual event in my callender.
There are few races as scenic or beautiful as the Snowdon Marathon, and long may it continue
Snowdon offers enough of a challenge as to make it a must do event every year
