关于赛事
Colby and Christina Kromminga are staples in the Kansas City area running community, and their son, Lucas, was recently diagnosed with Leukemia. Our goal is to raise funds and demonstrate support as Lucas battles his illness. Specifically, treatment even in the best case can last years, and the family has been staying away from their home to be nearer to Lucas during his treatment. Our fundraising intent is to provide some relief for ongoing medical bills not covered by insurance as well as related expenses such as childcare for their daughter, Leah; respite care; home upkeep and expenses they cannot tend to themselves; travel expenses; etc. More than anything, we simply want to lift up our dear friends and show them that they are not alone during this challenging time.
The 5k race on the Zarda Family Farm's official cross-country course. Parking is available on the grass on the west side of the property. Signs will direct parking along with volunteers. If you’d like to volunteer, please let us know via the “Questions?” button below or sign up under our volunteers page.
Note: All funds raised beyond standard race expenses (bibs, portable restrooms rentals, website fees, etc.) will be given directly to the family with full transparency. These funds include participant registration as well as any other optional donations. If the registration fee is more than you can afford, we still welcome you to come and show your support.
