Welcome to the First Annual Friends of Leasburg Dam Ringtail Cat Trail Run!
This event is sponsored by the Friends of Leasburg Dam State Park. Proceeds from the event will go towards the improvements and sustainment of the native plant gardens, education programs, and other projects that enhances its beauty and history. The park is a key Rio Grande landmark with its diversion dam built in 1903 and shared history with Fort Seldon.
The trail run includes a 3K or 5K walk/run with Start/Finish lines at the South Picnic area at the River Day Use section of the park. LOOK FOR BALLOONS AT ENTRANCE! Download the trail run map here. One lap of the trail equals 3K and 2 laps equals 5K. There will be a water station along the route.
Race parking will be at the South Picnic Parking lot. Check-in will start at 7:00 a.m. with fruit, juice, snacks, and water donated by local community businesses. Bathrooms are available within the South Picnic area as well. The race will begin at 8:00 a.m.
Directions to Race:
Leasburg Dam State Park, Radium Springs, NM
Directions from I-25: Exit 19. Go West on Fort Seldon Road (Route 157) over railroad tracks, past Campground Entrance and look for balloons at River Day Use Entrance.
Directions going north on Valley Street (Route 185): Turn right on Fort Seldon Road (Route 157) and look for balloons at River Day Use Entrance.
