About Matthew's Hope 4 MiraclesA Non-profit organization whose mission is to raise awareness of and funds for pediatric cancer research.
MISSION: Matthew McDonnell is a 6th grade student at Abington Heights Middle School who was diagnosed with a rare form of Wilm’s Tumor (kidney cancer) at age three. He battled and defeated the disease 5 times since 2014. Despite all that he has endured at such a young age, I can say without a doubt that he has the Joy of the Lord. He is a very spiritual boy who is connected to God in a powerful way. He has taught us more about strength, courage, faith, hope, and love than anyone ever has. We believe without a doubt that God has His hand on him and that He has a good plan for his life. "For I know the plans I have for you,' declares the Lord, 'plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a hope and a future.” — Jeremiah 29:11
Now that Matthew is in remission, he has started a non-profit organization, “Matthew’s Hope 4 Miracles.” Matthew’s mission is to raise awareness of the lack of funding for pediatric cancer research, to raise funds for more effective treatment options that will lead to a cure, and to help other children and their families who are battling pediatric cancer.
Currently the National Cancer Institute allocates less than 4% of its funds for pediatric cancer research. This is outrageous! The medical community needs more advanced treatments without the harsh side effects that leave children with ongoing medical challenges. Supporting research studies that are moving toward this end result needs to be a top priority of organizations that can really make a difference for children and their families. We are on a mission, along with thousands of others, to take a stand for all of our children. Every dollar really can have an impact on the outcome of thousands of children battling this horrific disease. As a family, we've witnessed too much suffering and loss to pediatric cancer. Every child's life is so precious and when a life is cut short, what is the world missing out on?
Will you join us on this crusade to end pediatric cancer?
