Laps for Liam is a fundraising event in honor of Liam Sanborn. Liam is a six-year-old boy from Randolph Wisconsin. He was diagnosed with his first form of Leukemia (A.L.L) at 11 months old, he underwent two years of intensive chemotherapy, and spinal taps to finally hit remission just before Christmas. After Christmas Liam was readmitted to the hospital and was diagnosed with an adult form of cancer called Chronic Myeloid Leukemia (One of the only children in the world and he was forced to take adult chemotherapy because there was no child form of treatment). After many failed treatments his family found hope in this last treatment. They went in for their annual biopsy and came out with news that would forever change their lives. Liam was diagnosed with his third form of cancer at just 6 years old, only having a two-week period in between diagnoses. Just weeks later Liam was diagnosed with a fourth cancer and fought hard to finally hit remission. He is now able to undergo a bone marrow transplant. Liam is the spunkiest, most bubbly little boy and our goal is to help fundraise for his family and their desired cancer research organization, the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
The run will be hosted on November 6th with a start time of 8:30am; check-in at 7:00a. The start point will be at Columbus High school, there will be waters and snacks provided for runners.
Additional fundraising efforts for Liam and his family will take place during this event.
