The İznik Ultra Marathon allows novices to test their strength on the 14 km and 25 km trails, while seasoned athletes can push their physical capabilities with the more grueling 47 km and 160 km ultra-marathon courses. In 2019, only a quarter of the participants managed to conquer the 160 km race, testament to its uncompromising terrain. Here, racers are met with the whims of nature, traversing over four seasons in 30 hours. The event stands as a platform for meeting new goals, while for some, it’s an opportunity to come back stronger for next year. Whatever the outcome, completing the course will leave an indelible mark in the hearts of all who participate.

I ran the 160K around Iznik lake and it was definitely one of the most challenging courses I have run yet!
The 160km is very hard and beautiful
I ran the 55K and it was definitely one of the most challenging courses I have run yet! We had rain, sun, snow not to mention lots of mud! The course was absolutely beautiful and includes a diverse terrain. The downhill was a bit of a killer on the quads but the view of the Iznik lake was well worth it! I highly recommend this course for individuals looking for a new challenge.
Towards the end of the race, there is a 6k downhill that is a bit of a killer for the quads so be prepared!
I think it's a great option for people around that can't afford leaving to Europe for attending a race. But it was not very crowded which makes us doubt it's quality.
