Part of a three-day festival to celebrate historic Abercrombie, North Dakota, the races starts and finishes at Abercrombie Park Pavilion, and takes riders on a blacktop flat terrain past Historical Fort Abercrombie and across the mighty Red River into Minnesota.
Proceeds from this event will go towards renovating the city park and installing a splash pad.
The Great American Bike Ride will be held on Friday, August 2nd. All are welcome.
The Great Abercrombie Bike Ride
Family Friendly Event. BYOB (Bring your own bike). Helmets are recommended but not required. Bike trailers are welcome but all participants must be registered.
Race Date: Friday, August 2nd
Location: Corner of 4th Ave E & Abercrombie Street, Abercrombie ND (near the front entrance of the Abercrombie Pavilion Park)
Race Day Schedule:
6-6:30pm Bike Ride Packet Pick up
6:45pm Bikes Line up
6:55pm Pledge or Star Spangled Banner
7:00pm Bike Ride Starts (Rain or Shine – no refunds)
Race route: From the corner of 4th Ave E and Abercrombie Street
Head west on Abercrombie Street (gravel) towards Broadway/County Road 22.Take pavement to McCauleyville.Turn left at County Road 1/135th Ave (near McCauleyville town sign).Go over the bridge and almost to Highway 75Turn around and take route back to Pavilion park.
Early registration ends July 7th. A medal can be added to the race registration for participants who register by July 7. Participants registering AFTER July 7th are not guaranteed a medal.
Some of the annual Aber Days events include: Parade through town, market at Park Pavilion, classic car show, Abercrombie Fire & Rescue Rodeo followed by a street dance downtown. The eventful weekend closes with a special all-faith religious service in the park with a potluck meal after.
