Trumbull Rotary 5K Sunset Run

WE ARE BACK AND BETTER THAN EVER IN THE NEWLY REMODELED, SCENIC & TRANQUIL TWIN BROOKS PARK.  THANK YOU ALL FOR YOUR PATIENCE AND SUPPORT AS WE WENT THROUGH A VERY TOUGH LAST TWO YEARS. WE APPRECIATE YOU BEING WITH US AND YOUR DONATIONS TO THE TRUMBULL ROTARY. WE LOOK FORWARD AND    'GETTING BACK TO NORMAL' !      BUT- WITH ALL THIS CHANGE IN THE PARK AND ITS PARKING --WE ARE NOW LIMITED TO 150 PARTICIPANTS !!    The Trumbull Sunset Run has an amazing history since the 80’s when it was started! The Trumbull Rotary is preparing to host one of the oldest runs in the area & invites you to join them.   We appreciate the support and cooperation from the Trumbull Parks and Rec Department and the Town of Trumbull to bring you this great, family event.    ALL VETERANS AND CURRENT MEMBERS OF THE US. MILITARY CAN RUN FOR FREE - ID required at bib pickup time!


The TRUMBULL SUNSET MAP: http://www.gmap-pedometer.com/?r=7755875  note- map is not to scale. This course IS an accurate 3.11mi/5k  That course has some rolling hills in the first half. The second half is a net downhill and completely flat the last half mile. There is a water stop at 1.7miles.

 

Event calendar  May 30 - registration opens- DO NOT DELAY- WE WILL SELL OUT AT 150 REGISTERED PARTICIPANTS July   1-  registration fees increase for 19 & over only ($32.50) July14 - guaranteed shirt sizing ends- only what's available after that (we may run out)  July 22 - registration fees increase  for 19 & over only ($35) July 25 - early pickup bib, shirt, swag- get it done and avoid the next day's stress!

 

July 26 - It's event day! 5:00 pm pickup bib, shirt, swag 6:15 pm Free kids run 6:30 pm Start 5K run, walk   followed by snacks & awards
There is no paper/cash registration at any time for these events. Online only in compliance with CT event guidelines. 

 

5K Run Prizes & Awards
Mens & Women's Champion trophies or awards Awards for top 3 in age groups 9 & under, 10-13, 14-18, 19-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70+    Race management & course logistics- Marty Schaivone, MS Running Productions Computer bib-chip timing by Startline Race Services.     Registrants will receive a T-shirt (size guaranteed when signed up by July 14).    ANY SIGN UPS AFTER THAT WILL RECEIVE A SHIRT IF AVAILABLE. 
THIS EVENT IS A TRUE BENEFIT TO THE COMMUNITY  The money we raise at this race is used to support local organizations and events like the annual dictionary project for our Trumbull 3rd graders, Trumbull Senior Citizens Fall Leaf Clean-Up, Scholarships for Trumbull High School Seniors, Trumbull Post Prom, Trumbull Mc2 Robotics, Trumbull Junior Achievement, Trumbull HS Mock Trial Team, Trumbull Arts Commission, a fall picnic for our Trumbull senior citizens as well as regional organizations like Homes For the Brave, The Center For Family Justice, Hall House, and the Thomas Merton House. In addition, we give out grants to many local and regional organizations.
