Riders riding in age groups (eg: Master 35-39) must be in their age group, not in another that does not reflect their USAC age.

Held under USAC Rules and Permit  2024-9708

Date: Saturday, August 31, 2024.

Location: Merced County, CA;   9878 East Harvey Pettit Road, LeGrand, CA 95333.  This is a tiny piece of Harvey Pettit on the WEST side of Freeway 99. LeGrand itself is on the east side of the Freeway, several miles away.

Directions: From Hwy 99 between Merced and Chowchilla, take the Plainsburg/Sandy Mush exit and turn west,. Turn immediately left onto Gilhane Road going back to the frontage road (Kahlon Rd). Turn right on Kahlon to parking

Registration: It is required to enter by 8/28 before midnight. No later or race day entry. Check-In opens at 6:30 a.m. and closes at 7:45 a.m. for all.  60-second starts. First rider starts at 8:01 a.m, and riders go in the category order listed below. All riders should be started by 11:30 a.m.

Course: A 17 mile total distance out-and-back open road tt course. Course is north on Kahlon (the Hwy 99 Frontage Road on the West side of the freeway) to just past Healy Road, and then returning on the same road. The course is a wide new frontage road, good site distances, but there a few vehicles on it. Riders should stay to the right, and NOT ride near the centerline. Junior turnarounds are earlier, distances (below) shorter.

Starts: first start will be at 8:01, in rider number order, followed by the groups as listed above. Numbers for  riders will be pre assigned and handed out at race registration, we hope to post a listing.

Prizes: tee shirts to top 3, 20% of entry fees (cash) for each category split to top 3.  Championship Jerseys may be ordered (but not provided) for 1st in each NCNCA Category, medals to third.

How to Enter:

Enter OnLine at www.bikereg.com from now to August 25, 20241 Championships for above fees plus on-line surcharge. From August 26-28,  the fee on-line is $12 additional. No entry after Aug 28 11:59 pm PST.  You may need to sign and date your entry form/release at race registration desk. 

          ---By Mail: You may still enter by mail. By mail, send standard USAC entry form/release along with fee above (if Postmarked by Friday Aug 23 and received by Aug 28) to Velo Promo/Athlone, 19780 Soulsbyville Road, Soulsbyville, CA 95372. For. Note: indicate what category you are entering on check or form. Entries for several races in one envelope ok, but be sure to list race names on the outside. Envelopes without names of races on the outside may go to the wrong race. 

                                                                NO RACE DAY ENTRY

          2024 USAC license required (available online). One day licenses are available only for Novice (Cat 5 or Women 5) . Entry fees include $3 NCNCA and $5.99 USAC insurance surcharges. Numbers will be provided.

Withdrawing fromRace:

Credit for another VP race will be given if you follow the below procedure  by 5 pm Wednesday 8/25 letting us know that you can't compete. No credit issued if you plan to enter another race instead; no cash refunds. No substitutions (transferring to another rider) for cancellations. Procedure: Go to "Edit My Entry" link on the BikeReg.com registration page, in your confirmation email, or in your BikeReg account to access this credit system

Champion Discounts: Champions pay normal fees up front; Current NorCal/Nevada District Time Trial Champions and National Time Trial Champions will get a refund at the reg desk of all but $9 per day if 1) their entry is received by the early (8/27) deadline above (otherwise they pay full fee, including late fee) and 2) they ride in the category in which they won the championship.

Rules: Riders while competing must remain in the right half of the right lane on the course except while passing;  There is other traffic on the roadway; always be aware of it and be prepared to slow and/or maneuver; and warn riders behind you of hazards.
