Meridiano International Half Marathon & 10k Aguas de Alicante

It had an amazing atmosphere with crowds at every corner, the organization exceeded my expectations. I would highly recommend this event to anybody and I will definitely be back next year!

16th February 2025. I did this half marathon 2 years ago, and it was a lot better. Problems today were, 1 lack of toilets, 2. No energy drinks at designated 15km stage or 10 km no gels left. The route was different, and not as enjoyable, crowds weren't there as route was rubbish, tight streets winding all over the shop. GPS not good either. Not doing it again, Even though next year it's the 30th one.

Hilly at start , bitty after the 10k mark too much back tracking.

Organizzazione ben strutturata, con musica ad incitare i partecipanti, punti ristoro a sufficienza maglia tecnica bellissima e calore Spagnolo senza eguali. Faccio i miei complimenti agli organizzatori.

Sicuramente è un percorso con delle salite che non permettono il best time. Comunque a me è rimasta una bellissima esperienza.

Ottima organizzazione, ottima posizione. Percorso impegnativo per le salite iniziali, dopo il 10*km tanti cambi di direzione e di ritmo. Non troppo affollata, soprattutto dopo che quelli della 10km ti lasciano. Ristoro finale migliorabile e medaglia da fare più grande (attualmente 6cm)

UK runner here, was really struggling to get fit in time but did manage to complete the 10k, brilliant organisation, friendly faces, lovely weather, good challenging course, just loved it, and the price? In UK you'd pay twice the price and would not get the goodies here, RIP off Britain eh? Hope to be back, well done everyone who volunteered, great day!

Myself and some friends travelled from the UK to take part in the Alicante Half Marathon in 18th February 2024. It was so well organised and such good value for money. Lots of goodies and very friendly crowds on the course. There is also a 10km option that starts at the same time. I would highly recommend this race. The course is on roads and promenade but is hilly and quite steep in places so it’s not for the faint hearted but you do then enjoy the downhills! The tech t shirt was amazing and we were offered lots of gels, water, isotonic drinks on the route. I think I paid the equivalent of £17 to enter the half marathon and was astonished at the value. The weather was sunny and quite warm so need to take that into account with kit. It can feel cool at start but it soon warms up, especially towards the end of the race.

Hilly course but nice views and the route was interesting and not boring which was a welcome distraction. Don’t wear too many layers as it feels warmer than you would expect. Save a little energy for a final climb in the last mile which caught me out, but it doesn’t last too long.

Was a great run at a great location. Beautiful route. The day before they had their local Carnival, though this might have been just a coincidence. Anyway, some of the crowd (and a few runners) were still in costume. Route went by beautiful locations including historical center, plaza, beach, monuments and had only some minor slopes. Fairly well organized, though I would have liked to see more options at the support stations, it was almost exclusively water; only one stop had some gel and iso-drink. It was a fast one though I thought, 691 of the 982 participants ran between 1-2h for the half marathon.

Everything goo except lack of toilets at start and finish. Apparently away don’t the back somewhere but no one seemed to know. Lots of people, male and female relieving themselves against nearby buildings. No toilets on the course.

Hard first 10k but great when you got into the town.

Great race in a lovely Location. I loved that the route of the half marathon was through all the little streets of Alicante and not just a long loop. Great to see the city and well shaded by the high buildings. Very reasonable price which included a t shirt medal and goodie bag. Will be back to do it next year! Only 1 little fault, not enough toilets at start so queue was very long and nearly missed start of race

Really lovely route with fabulous views of Alicante in the last 4kms. Nice t/shirt and goody bag and great marshall’s along the route. The only issue with this event (this is my 3rd year of running it) is the lack of toilets. There were 15 portaloo’s and by 8.45am the queue’s were horrendous. Some runners were resorting to urinating in public - not acceptable. You need to be able to have a comfort break before a run!

Very well organised race with a great atmosphere. Decent route, much of it along the coast with lovely sea views - and in absolutely perfect running weather. A couple of hills but not too sharp. I would recommend doing it, but you need to enter early because it sells out.

I write this as a very much experienced but amateur runner of a certain age, This was a well priced event. Expo was small but efficient. Start was very relaxed with runners of all abilities mixed together which was frustrating for some. Any one doing this for the first time, be aware that it is hilly , especially at the start. course is tight in many places and turns on itself. There is ample room to run especially after the 10k cut off point. Crowds were small but enthusiastic. Lack of toilets was the main thing here. Nothing along the way that I could see, nothing at the start or finish except for the use of a hotel toilet at the start. No gels at the 10k as promised and no energy drink at 15k either. No fruit along the way. These are all the basics of any half marathon. Beautiful day and a great way to spend a Sunday morning but it could have been so much better. Finish area was well set out.

The marathon was an incredible experience! Excellent organization, a great atmosphere, and motivated participants made the 10 km race truly inspiring. Crossing the finish line with a medal felt amazing—I can’t wait for the next one!
