Jace Race - New Sharon

The "Jace Race" is an annual event honoring the memory of Jace Carrico, a young boy from New Sharon known for his courage in battling a brain tumor. It celebrates Jace's connection to his community and supports the North Mahaska Education Foundation (N.M.E.F.). The profits benefit local children by funding educational resources, technology, classroom libraries, and enriching experiences such as field trips and arts programs. Recently, funds have facilitated the enhancement of school facilities and provided scholarship opportunities for high school students.
