Trails look great and you'll be in for a few changes as the trail wizards continue to improve the run of Woodland each year. The snow depth is fantastic and the grooming masters have been continuing their magic so come join us in Elk River, January 21st. Registration is open, spread the word! Online registration will close promptly at 8:00 pm on Friday, January 20th. Please register early, if possible, as we will be utilizing a wave start similar to last year. Race day registration will be available but you'll be placed in a later "wave" as we won't have you in the original registration list. Please consider pre-registering so we can have waves sent and things ready for you race morning. (We are anticipating 3 or 4 waves for the 20 km)
Join us and enjoy the snow and the challenging terrain of Woodland Trails. The 20 km course will take full advantage of the trail system; winding through the full outer loop and then back through the city park's trails to start the second loop. The 10 km courses will follow the same path with only one loop. The children's race will stay on the easy terrain of the loops in the city park area, most likely the Poplar Loop but course will be verified race morning.

We will continue to do seeded waves again this year as that worked smoothly last year. We will be running waves of approximately 35 skiers and waves will be started in 5 minute intervals. We will send out your wave placement on Friday (January 20th) shortly after registration closes. Waves will be seeded as best possible based on your wave placement answers and finishes at previous races. Please answer the wave placement questions so we can make sure we place you in an appropriate wave. Wave placements will also be available race morning but priority placements will be to those that pre-register.
The trails are in excellent shape and the snow depth is very good. Temps look to be staying cold so it doesn't look like the snow is going anywhere. Should be some fantastic skiing on the trails. We'll see you there!
