This will be our 33rd Cyclocross Race. As always, this classic cyclocross race course happens right at the West Hill Shop, just off exit 4 of I-91 in Putney, Vermont. The start is between the front of West Hill Shop and Graeme King's boat shop. From here racers pour into the grass fields of chicanes around the solar panels, neighbor's properties and behind the shop. More technical parts of the course are through the woods and along the top of our big bank that ultimately dives down our infamous slippery hill. Crank some watts into the corn field and possibly other new add-on's TBD and prepare for the "new" run-up (you tell us if it's harder then our old one). Catch your breath for a few yards and then get whooped by the second run up (the old one abbreviated).
We are again part of the Eastern Collegiate Cycling Conference (ECCC) series. Collegiate Riders welcome!
Local Lodging: If you are coming to Putney and plan to stay over either Saturday or Sunday night, please consider the Putney Inn, as they support us by offering their property for parking. Their rates are very reasonable and their rooms were renovated recently. Also many Air BNB's available in the vicinity.
Registration: On-line registration will close Saturday morning before the Sunday race, at 1PM, November 3rd 2024. Absolutely No Refunds. NO RACE DAY REGISTRATION. One-day licences are required for our race this year. You should enter the category that corresponds to your USAC license if you have one, or the category that corresponds to either your past USAC-licensed category or your age-group and ability level. If you are not sure, email [email protected] or contact USAC.
Note: A rider may only race in one race unless that rider is a Junior or a Master, and then only in the one senior race for which that rider is eligible. Anyone can race the SSCX race as a second event. Second race (least expensive of the two) is $10.
Staging: All races will stage in rows of 7 riders. Staging protocol: all pre-registered racers by CrossResults points, then day of event registrations in bib order.
Course Inspection: Entrance to course from the finish line only, and only between races with no racers on course. Inspection at the direction of the Chief Referee.
Putney Central School will be making burritos and will have various other items (Baked goods & Coffee) along with hot and cold beverages available.
Parking: Plenty of free parking at The Putney Inn. Please consider staying overnite at The Putney Inn.
