A very hilly race in the Tuolumne County Foothills
Held under USAC Rules & Permit 2024-9274
Registration: Registration will be at start/parking, in east Sonora, 7:00 a.m. to 7:45 for all categories. Fields will fill: check the website to assure room in your race.

Directions: Take Hwy 108 east from Oakdale into the Sierra foothills. As you pass Sonora, exit at Mono Way, and turn right for ½ mile to Tuolumne Road. Take a right turn and go two miles to turn left on Nuggett Road (at the bright green blue and yellow TUD buildings) to parking. 18885 Nugget Blvd, Sonora, CA 95370

Course: This is the same course as in 1991,1996, 2002-2019 & 2020: Starting at parking area, the race promenades east on Tuolumne Road to Wards Ferry Road, and then south on Wards Ferry to the course, 2 miles. Loop: south on Wards Ferry, hairpin downhill right on Algerine, right on Lime Kiln, right on Murphy Road, right on Old Wards Ferry, right on Wards Ferry. A 12 mile loop of good to fair paving, two climbs and mostly rolling/hilly terrain. Several NARROW sections, the reason for the small field limits. May be no support cars, bring pump and spare. Finish on Murphy ½ mile south of Old Wards Ferry; feed zone at Old Wards Ferry and Wards Ferry.
Prizes: Will be merchandise. cash ($300 min) and tee shirts .
How to Enter:
---via On-line at .www.BikeReg.com, from now to May 19 for above fees plus on-line surcharge. From May 20-22 the fee on-line is $12 additional. No on-line entry after 11:59 p.m. PST Wednesday May 22, but entry will be available race day, if your category is not yet full. You may need to sign and date your entry form/release at race registration desk.
---By Mail: You may still enter by mail, but if a group is filling, go on-line. By mail, send standard USAC entry form/release along with fee above (if postmarked by Friday May 17 to Velo Promo/Wards Ferry, 19780 Soulsbyville Road, Soulsbyville, CA 95372. For those postmarked after, add $12. Note: indicate what category you are entering on check or form. Entries for several races in one envelope ok, but be sure to list race names on the outside. Envelopes without names of races on the outside may go to the wrong race. Mail in entries will not be processed until after the opening of online reg.
---At Race: You may enter at the race, provided your event is not filled, for the above listed fee plus $12.
2024 USAC license required. One-day licenses are available at race only for Novice riders (Cat 5). Entry fees include $3.00 NCNCA and $5.75 USAC insurance surcharges. Numbers will be provided.
Credit for another VP race will be given if you follow the below procedure by 5 pm Wednesday 5/22 letting us know that you can't compete. No credit issued if you plan to enter another race instead; no cash refunds. No substitutions (transferring to another rider) for cancellations. Procedure: Go to "Edit My Entry" link on the BikeReg.com registration page, in your confirmation email, or in your BikeReg account to access this credit system.
Champion Discounts: Champions pay normal fees up front; Current NorCal/Nevada District Road Race Champions and National Road Champions will get a refund at the reg desk of all but $8.00 per day if 1) their entry is received by the deadline above (otherwise they pay full fee, including late fee) and 2) they ride in the category they won the championship in (Master Champions may ride down in age, and ride for $5.00, and Juniors may ride up. District jersey is not required
Covid-19 Mitigations: Mitigations mirroring CDC, California and Tuolumne County guidance regarding Covid-19 will be undertaken, depending upon conditions and guidance on the day of the race. If you have Covid, have been exposed to it in the past 5 days, or have symptoms of it, don’t come. Those not following the mitigations may be asked to correct or leave. Get vaccinated and boosted; help prevent the spread and the emergence of new strains because of a large number of infected and/or unvaccinated persons.
