The Sickle Cell Foundation of Tennessee (SCFT) was founded in 2007 by the late Dr. Trevor K, Thompson. As an educator, Dr. Thompson championed the call for advocacy, educational awareness, and social support services for individuals and families impacted by sickle cell disease.
The 15th Annual Mark Walden Walk/Run is an annual event that celebrates 16 years of raising awareness of sickle cell disease and providing contributions to improve the quality of life for those impacted by it. During the event, there will be keepsake giveaways and educational materials associated with sickle cell disease. This event will also serve as an opportunity to register and engage with persons/families impacted by sickle cell disease, registering participants to conduct trait testing, enroll in social services, receive educational materials, and partner with The Sickle Cell Foundation with donations and volunteerism.
SCFT relies on the support of sponsors, contributors, and registered event participants to provide ongoing social services to individuals and families impacted by sickle cell disease and education/awareness outreach to the greater community.
