We are so excited to open the beautiful grounds of the San Antonio State Hospital to host our Stepping Up Awareness - 5K Run/Walk on Saturday, May 25, 2024! Come join us and show your support for mental health! The race will be hosted on the grounds of SASH located at 6711 S. New Braunfels St., San Antonio, TX 78223. Don’t miss the beautiful views of the newly completed hospital and a glimpse of the Tower of the Americas. This is the only time of the year that the campus is open for runners and walkers. Dogs on a leash and baby strollers are welcome! Volunteer groups are also welcome to come and cheer everyone on to the finish line, call for more details!
This is a professionally timed, chip race with an accurate course. Unique and one of a kind prizes will be awarded to the top 3 male and top 3 female overall finishers.
This event benefits the Volunteer Services Council of the San Antonio State Hospital. The Council’s primary mission is to improve the quality of life and enhance the well-being of patients receiving treatment at the San Antonio State Hospital by providing goods and services not funded by the state. The patients at the San Antonio State Hospital are receiving treatment and are on their way to recovery from mental illness. Thursday May 23, from 4 to 6 pm at Embassy Suites Brooks Hotel & Spa, located at 7610 S. New Braunfels Ave., San Antonio, TX 78235.
Or on race day at the race site from 7 to 7:45 am. Please note that shirt sizes may not be guaranteed if you register after Friday, May 10, 2024.
