We welcome you for the third annual, Run for the Last Mile 5K. This is an officially registered, USATF 5K run/walk course at William Paterson University. We are so proud of this event because of the good it does for our students. Every year there are those who reach their last year or last semester at William Paterson University, and find that they simply can’t afford those last few courses. This event directly supports a scholarship that bridges this affordability gap and helps students complete the "last mile" to their degree. We run the last mile so that our students can make it to graduation.
In addition to supporting the Last Mile scholarship, we also value this event for the experience it brings to our community. The event allows for individuals and participating teams (community groups, student groups, staff, faculty) to win awards for their spirit and their showing in the course. The course, itself, features musical support from William Paterson University's nationally recognized BRAVE NEW RADIO. The route is somewhat challenging as it weaves over the hills and around the entirety of our beautiful main campus.
The first 100 registrants will receive a t-shirt and awards are given to top racers by individual categories and by team.
