The Race Continues!! Join Us on Saturday, November 18th, 2023
Pull on a warm hat, lace up those shoes, and get ready to run a 5k or 10k the weekend BEFORE Thanksgiving. This will be the perfect training run for your upcoming Turkey Day 5k on the beautiful trails through Hudson Springs Park, adjacent to Seton Catholic School. Loop around the 50-acre lake and catch glimpses of natural wildlife along the path. You can sign up to run, walk, or just donate to support this amazing cause! The race will be held rain or shine!
Through the generous support of participants like you, Saint Antoine’s School in Rwanda is educating the next generation…today! Our needs are humble but still great: in 2021 we "ramped up" and raised critical funds for special needs access to school facilities. In 2022, "the race continued" by building dormitories, showers, and critical gardens to feed the students throughout the year. We are proud to say that less than one year later, those students now have the facilities they need to live on the school grounds!
In 2023, every mile matters toward our final mission - building a medical clinic on the school grounds to properly treat the children during the school year. Like all good races, we are not yet over the finish line - we are 50% underway. That is why we need your support! The critical funds that we raise are building a future for these children! One way to support would be to sponsor a child. Go to our Donation page. On there, you will see that $900 will sponsor one child for three semesters. That covers the child's tuition, uniforms, room and board, meals and so much more.
Run for Rwanda's goal is to truly transform the lives of young students 5,000 miles away in the African country of Rwanda. Located in Central and East Africa, Rwanda is one of the smallest countries on the African mainland. Known for its breathtaking scenery, it is often referred to as the “land of a thousand hills” and is home to the mountain gorilla. Brick by brick, you have helped bring these children the kind of a turn-around and positive future that only good education can assure.
All proceeds from the event benefit the Friends of Rwandan Education, the organization dedicated to helping these children achieve their educational goals by the establishment of schools. To learn more about the Friends of Rwandan Education, and to view pictures of the status of construction, visit their website at friendsofrwandaned.org. All gifts to Friends of Rwandan Education are tax deductible to the extent allowed under Section 501(c) (3) of the Internal Revenue Code.
