The Right Here, Right Now Climate 5K - will take place on Sunday, April 16th, which is the last day of the Right Here, Right Now Boulder Impact Forum hosted by UN Human Rights, and the University of Colorado Boulder from April 13 - 16, 2023.
This 5K fun run, will raise awareness and funds for the victims of the December 30, 2021 Marshall Fire in Boulder County. Fueled by hurricane strength winds, the fire caused in part by extreme climate drought, quickly destroyed more than 1,000 homes, killing two people and causing $2 billion in damages.
Right Here, Right Now Climate 5K Race Director Lee Troop is encouraging local Olympians, and the public at large, to participate in the Right Here, Right Now Climate 5K, and to show their support for the victims of the Marshall Fire. This mass participation event is open to everyone - runners and walkers alike.
The scenic 5K course in will start and finish in downtown Louisville, and will wind through local streets and near sites of the historic fire. With local food and craft beer following the benefit event, this annual rite of Spring, will be a part of the annual Right Here, Right Now Global Climate Summit that will occur every April in Boulder.
100% of all profit raised from the Right Here, Right Now Climate 5K, will be donated to the Marshall Fire victims.
