Ride the Ups and Downs - IL

Ride the Ups and Downs is a 1-day tour of beautiful Jo Daviess County, Illinois featuring hilly terrain, spectacular ridge-top panoramas and long-valley views.  Choose one of three clearly marked routes on rolling, low traffic, paved roads throughout our rural setting: 32 miles (50 km), 52 miles (84 km) and 63 miles (100 km).  Start this self-paced ride anytime between 7-9:30 a.m. (CDT)  Note: Support ends at 3 p.m.

We insist that everyone wear a bicycle helmet at all times on the ride. Bring appropriate clothing for the weather. Make sure your bicycle is in good working order. 

All participants are asked to follow CDC and State guidelines for health and safety.

Pre-registration closes 5/02/2024 @ 10 PM (CT). $35 advance registration includes GOATS socks. 

After the ride, enjoy all that Elizabeth and Galena have to offer:
antique shops, art galleries, boutiques, vineyards and restaurants. Also visit our tourist attractions: Apple River Fort, Great Western Railroad Museum, Paul's Vintage Bike Museum and Banwarth House and Museum.
