The 5th annual Ride of Honor will start and end at First United Methodist Church in Athens. We have four routes to choose from this year: Metric Century, 55-mile, 30-mile, and a 22-mile route. Rest stops will be between 13-15 miles, and we will have bike mechanics along the routes to help with minor repairs.
**Register by March 30, 2024 to be guaranteed a t-shirt. The shirts will be a 50/50 cotton polyester blend. The event t-shirt is a large part of our cost. In order to keep cost to a minimum, we will only order a small surplus of extra shirts. We will only be able to exchange t-shirt sizes if there is one available in the surplus pile. **
Proceeds will benefit the Dallas Police Cycling Team and its H.A.L.O. Fund (Honoring and Loving Our Survivors). Please visit our website for more information.

The Dallas Police Cycling Team’s Inclement Weather Policy
We strive to produce a full and safe bicycle rally, but sometimes the weather conditions can impact those plans. We encourage all participants to arrive as scheduled on the morning of the ride as weather condition-related decisions will be made shortly before the ride start time of 8 AM. In many instances, weather conditions in one part of the State may not be impacting the event location, or weather conditions may improve in the hours preceding the event, both of which impact the ride start. In the event of light to moderate rain, and in the absence of any lightning, our goal is to proceed with the full event if road conditions are safe and will allow the bike ride to take place. If there is lightning in the area, the event will be placed into a weather hold and can be held for up to one hour. If the lightning has departed the area after one hour, the ride can proceed as planned. If there is still evidence of the potential for lightning in the area, the ride may either be shortened or canceled. The event has a one-hour weather hold time frame because the schedule impacts the safety of the event by such factors as increasing traffic on the routes as the day passes, and law enforcement and medical support schedules.
Due to the nature of bike rides taking place generally in the outdoors, weather conditions can play a large role in the production of the event. Because a significant amount of the funds collected during registration have already been expended by the day of the event, and because each event is uniquely scheduled for its date and location, registration refunds are not possible, and rescheduling the event is not feasible, therefore we have a no refund policy. We encourage all those who are pre-registered to pick up their packets with the t-shirt. T-shirts will not be mailed. Proceeds from registration fees and donations will continue to benefit the HALO fund. Thank you for your understanding of these policies. We appreciate your participation.
