The Raider Challenge is a 5K or 10K combination road/cross country race that begins and ends at Quincy Notre Dame High School located at 10th and Jackson Street in Quincy, IL. The races will take you through one or two of Quincy's beautiful and historic river-bluff parks. Participants will enjoy the challenges presented by either course. The 5K course, with rolling hills and beautiful park scenery, is suitable for all ranges of participants. A 5K Walk is available for those who wish to participate at a more leisurely pace as well as a 5K Competitive Walk for those a little more speedy. The 10K course offers several bluff views of the Mississippi River Valley. Competitors in the 10K will be challenged by the long hills in Indian Mounds Park and by Quincy's infamous Jackson Hill.
A 1-Mile Run is also available for those under the age of 13 who wish to participate in a short distance race.
On-site Registration - You may register race morning from 6 AM to 7:10 AM in front of school entrance.
Packet Pickup - Friday, 6/24/2022 from 3 P.M. - 6 P.M. at Quincy Notre Dame and on Race Day from 6 A.M. to 7:15 A.M.
Age Groups and Awards (as of June 26, 2021) 5K - Under 13, 14-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70 and Over. 10K - 19 and Under, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60 and Over. Overall top male/female winners in each run will receive an award. 5K - Top (2) male/female winners in each age group category will receive an award. 5K Competitive Walk - Overall top (3) male/female winners will receive an award. 10K - Top (3) male/female winners in each age group category will receive an award. Race Results- Post-race results will be available on www.timingiseverything.com. Post-Race- Participants will receive a goody bag at the finish of the race. Bags will include bottled water, snacks, and goodies. Inclement Weather- Safety is our top priority. Updates will be provided on our Facebook Page as needed. Rules of the Road- For your safety, we cannot allow the following: rollerblades, skates, skateboards, scooters, bikes, or walking sticks. Baby strollers and jogging strollers are not allowed due to course terrain. Pets strongly discouraged. Headsets/headphones are discouraged. We are not responsible for missed instructions or accidents due to use. Our Mission- Quincy Notre Dame High School seeks to build a community of learners among its faculty, staff, students, and parents. QND fosters an environment of consideration and acceptance, while challenging its' members to develop their potential through strong educational and extracurricular programs. QND strives to prepare its' students to assume vital roles in a constantly changing world. All proceeds from this event will benefit the Quincy Notre Dame Cross Country Program.
