The Race for Big Dreams is CRCC’s annual signature event intended to raise needed funds to continue to provide important services while also engaging with our community in support of our clients, staff and families.
The Race for Big Dreams is an event for runners and walkers of all ability levels (untimed 5k or half-mile fun walk). This event is perfect for families! Enjoy a leisurely Saturday morning stroll as a family. The half-mile path is wheelchair accessible. Strollers welcome. The Kids Zone will be full of fun, outdoor activities like sidewalk chalk and bubbles for kids to enjoy at the midpoint of the walk.
Over the last two years, the Race for Big Dreams has honored two amazing former clients: JJ and Dillon. This year we will honor Talia, daughter of Jill Lund and Brent and Jillian Krumbach. Talia lost her lengthy battle with CHD (congenital heart disease) at the age of 14 in May 2023. She was diagnosed in utero with a heart defect and had six heart surgeries, along with several additional procedures; most of them were prior to the age of 1. Talia was an amazing child with an infectious and positive personality. She became a superhero to all who knew her.
New this Year: One new tradition that will kick off the 2024 Race for Big Dreams will be the Lap of Champions. CRCC clients and families are encouraged to participate in this event while race participants encourage and cheer them on. Our hope is to have other children and families from across the metro area join in the Lap of Champions so we can lift up and celebrate everyone.
