Change Today, Change Tomorrow presents our annual Vegan Cook-Off and Health Fair on the third Saturday of August, 2023, from 2-5 PM. This event, highlighting local Black vendors and farmers, offers a wealth of free resources to our community including herbal tea, organic supplements, cold-pressed juice, fresh produce, and critical health screenings such as blood pressure, blood sugar, COVID, HIV, and mammograms.
Next in our line-up this year, we are organizing a 'Call to Action Walk' from 8 AM - 11 AM. This pivotal action serves as a powerful illustration of the existing food and transportation inequalities within our neighborhood, underlining the drastic need for change. As our community of 60,000 shares just two grocery stores in stark contrast to the more affluent east side's fifteen stores, we walk in unity and resilience, making our message clear: Access to fresh food and transportation is not a privilege; it is a right. By participating in our event, you join us in a crucial step towards eradicating food apartheid and creating a more equitable community.
