Paul’s Mystery Ship To End ALS started sail in 2020 when Paul Dannels lost his battle with ALS (Lou Gehrig's disease), a debilitating disease that inflicts profound physical changes on individuals and their families. These changes often occur on a weekly or even daily basis, making it increasingly challenging for those affected to maintain their mobility, communication, and eventually their ability to breathe.
The experience of living with ALS can be overwhelming, surrounded by the dark clouds of doubt, sadness, and anger. Paul's Mystery Ship to End ALS sets sail with the aim of bringing a ray of hope into the storm of ALS. The foundation's mission is twofold: to support research for a cure and to alleviate the suffering caused by the physical losses associated with the disease. This is achieved by providing essential equipment and support to individuals who lack proper resources, extending scholarships to students whose lives have been impacted by ALS to help them pursue their educational goals, contributing to the ALS Association to aid global research efforts dedicated to combating ALS, and offering companionship to those who feel isolated in their journey, both individuals and their families. Furthermore, the foundation seeks to combat the stigma surrounding ALS and the immense challenges families face as they confront end-of-life issues together.
We express our gratitude for your participation in the 4th Annual Paul's Mystery Ship Walk to End ALS. With your support, we are able to continue our efforts in making a significant difference in the battle against ALS. Together, we continue to advocate for an end to the profound physical, emotional and financial hardships inflicted by this debilitating and fatal disease.
