The Brave Warriors Foundation was established to honor my late husband, Brent McTaggart by providing the necessities needed for students to participate in athletics, help students with testing costs, and provide yearly scholarships and the basic necessities of life for our low-income students in Unit 9 school district. We've donated to new programs at WCHS and are proud to have provided funding for equipment, educational speakers and trips for Unit 9 students. With a board comprised of my family and coaches from WCHS, I know we can make a difference in the lives of student athletes. I want our students and my children to see everyone coming together wearing their “Brave Warriors” t-shirts that say “Paint Your Path.”
Brent, a 1995 graduate of WCHS and former art teacher, loved the Watseka Warriors, and he would want us all to paint a path of kindness, love and generosity with a side of tough COMPETITION! If you are new to the whole 5K thing…Brent would say “Hold your head up, strut and look like ya know what you’re doing!”
