New Market STRONG Fighter Run/Walk/Stroll

Sign up today for the annual New Market STRONG 5k Fighter Run/Walk! Karen Durbin served New Market as Town Clerk for over 14 years and was a friend to many in Town. After a long battle with breast cancer, Karen passed away in November 2020. This race is in honor of her and part of a larger, town wide event to raise funds and awareness to fight breast cancer. 
 
Join us Sunday, October 8th, when you and fellow fighters will run/walk/stroll a 3.1 mile course through the historic town of New Market and adjacent neighborhoods. For our competitors, this race will be officially timed by Racine MulitSports. This event is family-friendly and all ages and abilities are welcome!
 
NEW THIS YEAR! You can sign up and raise money as a TEAM in honor or support of a loved one battling breast cancer. We'll have prizes for the team with the most members, most funds raised and most spirit on race day. So gather your pals, think of a fun team theme and raise funds to fight cancer together!
 
Check-in and same day race registration begins at 8 AM. Race starts at 9 AM sharp. 
Parking is available on Main Street, the Community Park and behind 39 W. Main.
 
The race is entirely volunteer staffed and all facilities are 100% donated — net proceeds will be  donated locally to the Hurwitz Breast Cancer Fund partnered with Frederick Health Hospital Cancer fund; non-profit 501(c)(3) tax status.
 
P.S. If you're looking to for something to do in the afternoon...come to the Derby! From Noon on, they will donate 10% of proceeds to the cause.
