The 5K Color Walk and Run is an event that aims to raise funds for the Northern California District Council Young People's Union (NCDC YPU). The event has multiple objectives, including promoting unity, health, and fellowship among churches and communities across Northern California, and of course, having fun.
What makes The Color Run unique is that it is not just a 5K run, but after the race, participants can take part in a final color throw. This allows them to get a little more colorful if they didn't get enough during the race.
The color used during The Color Run is non-toxic and is made using baking soda, cornstarch, and safe dyes. Although safe, it may take a few washes to remove the color from clothing, so it is best to wash your outfit right away. Some participants wear glasses or goggles to protect their eyes and use a bandana to cover their mouths. However, you can still enjoy being a "Color Runner" without the extra protection. One of the great things about The Color Run is that it is not just about the 5K.
