Franklin County Cyclists presents MICHAUX GRVL 2024
The Franklin County Cyclists are excited to once again host Michaux GRVL for 2024, and are offering the new Mighty Michaux 100 mile route along with a fun scavenger hunt on all courses for everyone!
We are once again partnering with 2 great local groups for this event; Friends of Michaux State Forest and Bulldog Bike Park. Proceeds from this year's event will be distributed to both groups, and each will be active participants in the event by running aid stations and providing volunteers along the route.
Our 2024 Beneficiaries:
MICHAUX GRVL 2024 is a ride and race to be taken at your own pace. We will be offering timing on each route for those interested in their personal statistics, and results will be posted on our website following the event. The fast may go fast & the slow may go slow. The routes we've got on tap take you through some wonderful scenery, so stop and take it in!
We recommend the use of gravel bikes with tires of at least 35mm for any route since some stretches of road can be chunky and there is a risk of punctures with smaller tires on the downhill sections of the courses.
There will be no day-of registrations, and all participants must complete their registrations on BikeReg prior to the close of the event registration. We are coordinating a pre-race packet pick up on Friday evening September 13, 2024 with Michaux Brewing Co. Day-of packet pick up will be available prior to the start - we STRONGLY encourage 100 mile riders to pick their packet up the day prior. Start times will range from 6:30am -10 am.
100 Mile Start time: 6:30am - FRONT AND REAR LIGHTS ARE REQUIRED
50 Mile Start Time: 8:30am
25 Mile Start Time : 9:30am
15 Mile Start Time: 10:00am
AID STATION AND FINISH CUTOFF TIMES
While we want everyone to have a great time and finish the ride, we also must take into consideration the length of time our volunteer SAG motos are out on the course. Due to this, we will be STRICTLY enforcing cutoff times for Aid Stations, Food Truck, and the Finish Line.
All Riders must cross the timing mat at the start of the ride and completion of their chosen route in order to receive an accurate ride time The Ride Organizers will do their best to ensure that all riders who start the ride are accounted for at the end, but it is the responsibility of the rider to make sure they either cross the mat or check in at the registration table at the completion of the ride.
BIG FLAT AID STATION CUTOFF - 12PM
MT HOLLY SPRINGS MINI STATION CUTOFF (100mi route only) - 12PM
PINE GROVE FURNACE AID STATION CUTOFF - 1:30PM
FINISH LINE CUTOFF - 4:30PM
Route markings for each course will be designated using signs and colored arrows ( specific to each route). Route marking colors will be displayed at the route start.
GPS files for each route along with cue sheets will be available through an online link.
If you need to coordinate an earlier start time, please contact us - you will not be eligible for race placing but we can still give you a time.
This is a rain or shine event and no refunds will be given, so please plan accordingly when signing up by using the BikeReg insurance if you have an eligible reason for a refund.
Participants will receive with their paid entry a meal voucher good towards a post ride lunch at a Food Truck that will be on hand that day. Upon completion of their route, participants must take their registration ticket to the registration table to receive their meal voucher.
FCC members who register for the event are encouraged to wear their FCC kit!
