The course consists of a 32 mile loop (50k) with an 18 mile out and back for the 50 milers. The course is mostly single-track. Parts of the trail runs along Lake Superior. Most of the trail is easy running with a few significant climbs and technical areas. Unless it is raining, there in no place where you will need to get your shoes wet.
