KING'S TOUR OF THE QUABBIN
Choose from two road routes (century or metric century) or two gravel routes (approx. 40 or 75 miles). There's no double metric century this year.
Sunday, Oct. 6, 2024 – Hardwick, Mass.
Bicycle around the Quabbin Reservoir, a pristine jewel in the heart of Massachusetts. Choose from two road routes (64 or 101 miles) or two gravel routes (approximately 40 or 75 miles, each approximately half paved). Not much traffic; plenty of hills.
Start/finish for all routes is at Hardwick Winery, 3305 Greenwich Road, Hardwick, MA 01082. Check-in opens at 6:45 a.m. Start times are flexible, but we recommend century riders and gravel riders start 7:00-8:00 a.m., and road metric riders start 8:00-9:00 a.m.
Routes will not be arrowed. Printed cue sheets will be available at the start. Ridewithgps links will appear here and will be emailed to online registrants the week before the ride.
Road metric (64 miles, 4936 feet of climbing)
Rest stops at mile 28 (Rt. 202 in Pelham) and mile 48 (Petersham Common)
Road century (101 miles, 6225 feet of climbing)
Rest stops at mile 28 (Rt. 202 in Pelham), mile 58 (Leverett store), and mile 85 (Petersham Common). Road century riders get a $5 credit to use at the Leverett store.
Gravel Loop (approx. 75 miles – we will update this page with details when the route is finalized)
Not the same as last year. We're developing a new route that avoids DCR trails. Two rest stops.
Little Gravel (approx. 40-45 miles – we will update this page with details when the route is finalized)
Not the same as last year. We're developing a new route that avoids DCR trails. One rest stop.
Not sure which route is for you? Not to worry -- you can change your selection online at any time before registration closes. You can even wait until ride day and decide in the middle of the ride. Both road routes are the same until the Pelham rest stop, at mile 26 or 27. Both gravel routes go to the Petersham rest stop. So you can decide at the rest stop which way to continue.
Limited to 150 riders.
