On A Mission (OAM) presents the 5K Hometown Mission Run!
The Hometown Mission Run will raise money for local Jones County churches to address medical needs to poor communities in the Dominican Republic this summer. Every year, 30-40 medical and non-medical short term missionaries from Jones County spend a week in the DR to meet the physical needs of those that would otherwise go without basic medical care. This event will help to fund the project and allow us to meet those needs.
A little about OAM:
Our Mission: To make disciples of Christ by equipping leaders, encouraging believers, and empowering churches.
What that looks like:
Equipping leaders: We work to train and equip pastors and leaders to shepherd the flock and plant Gospel centered churches. This is done through pastors/ leaders conferences and a 2 year institute.
Encouraging Believers: We partner churches with churches in a way that builds long term relationships and sustainable ministry impact. Believers are encouraged to fulfill the mission of Christ through these partnerships.
Empowering churches: Our goal is to partner churches in a way that is mutually beneficial and where the Kingdom of God is advanced. We have seen that when pastors and leaders have Biblical training and the believers are encouraged then the church will be empowered to fulfill the mission of Christ.
Medical Clinics: We enlist the help of medical professional to facilitate clinics at local churches to address the medical needs of communities. This is accomplished by providing diagnostic clinical settings where medical professionals can examine patients, prescribe treatment, and issue any medicines.
Clean Water Initiatives: Partnered churches help in the distribution and implementation of clean water devices throughout their community.
