Give It Back Track is the annual race of the Huntsville Inner City Learning Center (HICLC), whose mission is "To grow our students into Christ-like, lifelong learners and socially responsible citizens through after-school programs focusing on Biblical knowledge, mentoring, and academic support." HICLC serves students in the inner city community from K – 8th grades.
More than just a race, the Give It Back Track was started by HICLC founder, Art Leslie, as a way to teach the students the importance of giving back to the community. Rather than race proceeds benefiting HICLC, the students select the organization they would like to give back to - this year's race benefits the Huntsville chapter of Sleep in Heavenly Peace, a non-profit organization dedicated to building, assembling and delivering top-notch bunk beds to children and families in need.
This certified 5K course begins at the corner of Lowe Avenue and Adams Street and takes runners through beautiful downtown Huntsville, including the Twickenham and Old Town Historic Districts, then ends at Huntsville Junior High School.
