Help us fight childhood cancer!
Come join Clark Elementary School at our inaugural "Fight the Fight" 5K and 1 Mile Family Fun Run. Each participant will receive a long sleeve dry-fit shirt if registered by 10/22/23. All youth participants participating in the 1 mile run will receive a finishers medal.
This race will be an opportunity to bring our school and community together for a common cause as we raise money for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. Families who go to St. Jude never receive a bill for treatment, housing, travel or food; allowing parents to focus solely on their child's well-being. Former Clark Elementary student, Tyrielle Caldwell, was diagnosed with neuroblastoma when she was four years old and spent a lot of time at St. Jude. Her mom, Tasheyrielle White, said "Our time at St. Jude was AMAZING and they made us feel at home. We were very scared until we got there, but were welcomed with open arms and they made so much stress go away."
The idea for the 5K race and 1 mile run was born after watching 14 year old Ballard County resident, Hudson Pace, courageously fight his battle with leukemia. He fought the FIGHT of his life with grit and determination until the end. Sadly, he lost his battle on May 13, 2023. Many of us at Clark Elementary were instantly drawn to compassion and wanted to do something to help not only honor Hudson and Tyrielle, but to also bring awareness of this terrible childhood disease. The race will be run in remembrance of those who have lost their battle with cancer, as well as the countless other families who have been affected by childhood cancer. These brave kids and their families inspire and teach us about not giving up when the battle is tough.
All proceeds raised from the 5K and 1-mile fun run will go directly to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
