The Barley Made It Running Club (TBMIRC) was founded in 2018 by a group of thirsty friends who wanted to encourage each other to get outside and move, no matter the pace. Partnering with the Tri-State Outdoors Fest, TBMIRC invites all you thirsty movers to lace up for the second annual Blood, Sweat, & Beers 5K in the picturesque and historic town of Cumberland Gap. The run/walk will take place on the morning of the 3rd annual Tri-State Outdoors Fest, which promotes the outdoor recreational opportunities in the Cumberland Gap Region and aims to reconnect people with the woods, trails, and streams that make this area such a desirable place to be.
Registered runners over the age of 21 will be considered an honorary member of TBMIRC at Angelo's in the Gap, our running club's home pub, for the entire day following the race. Boasting a full bar and large selection of craft beer on tap, you'll have plenty of hoppy motivation to get across the finish line. Now, we're not suggesting you have to drink a beer, but you should know that TBMIRC is a down-to-earth group of people - a drinking club with a running problem. The mission of TBMIRC is to connect, be active, and raise a toast to crossing the finish line. Run, walk, or crawl, we're here for the beer. (Or water - no judgement.) It's the journey that counts.
This event is made possible through partnership with Guardians of the Gap, Angelo's in the Gap, Pinnacle Performance Physical Therapy, and HOKA.
