Join us for another exciting 5K of fitness, fun, and community spirit at the 2nd Annual Ashlynn Barnes Memorial 5K Run/Walk! Whether you're a seasoned runner, a casual walker, or somewhere in between, this event is perfect for participants of all ages and fitness levels.
This run will be 100% Non-Profit and is intended to raise money for college book scholarships for at least 2 winners. Depending on how much we raise, we will be giving out more scholarships to the runner ups. If you are not planning to attend college, you may reward a scholarship to a student of your choice!
Date : April 6th, 2024
Time : 9:00 AM
Location : Lamar High School Track
As this race will be in memory of Ashlynn Barnes who was a beloved student at Lamar High School, we plan to use the track at the high school. That being said, if you would like bring any banners, photos, or anything to remember Ashlynn, please feel free.
Participants are recommended to bring a water bottle, wear active clothing, comfortable running/walking shoes, and be ready to get a great morning workout in!
As a reminder, this run/walk is fit for any fitness levels, and all ages. We encourage you to join in remembrance of Ashlynn Barnes and the spirit of unity for the community of Lamar!
If you'd like to volunteer, set up a booth, or help in the form of sponsorship, please contact Nick at (512) 971-2597.
Runner Donations will be $10 a piece with an option for a race day T-shirt and will go towards the scholarships given out to the winners. Any additional donations are appreciated but not necessary. There will be a sponsorship package for local businesses to participate in, including t-shirt logo placement, banner logo placement, and Facebook shoutouts.
After the event, we will have a quick memorial & awards ceremony to announce the winners and present them with their prizes. We plan to have goodie bags for the participants and have some time after the awards ceremony to gather as a community and share stories and good memories together.
We look forward to seeing you on race day! Go Warriors!
