About the Event:
The 5k for $5k Scholarship Fundraiser is an event and race in Compton, Ca. The goal of the event is to raise $10,000 to award two $5,000 scholarships to two Compton Unified School District High School Seniors. Compton Run Club, Mayor Emma Sharif, and partners have come together for this event. Registration includes a bib, medal, and giveaways. The event will have music, snacks, raffles, race warm-ups, yoga, paid food options, and more.

T-Shirts
T-shirts are available for separate purchase. Before check-out, select your t-shirt size. If no shirt is wanted, select "no shirt" from the drop down box. T-shirts are white 100% polyester with blue CRC logo graphic. T-shirt order deadline is August 4, 2023.
Parking
Free parking is available at Douglas F. Dollarhide Community Center in the parking structure. Address is 301 N Tamarind Ave, Compton, Ca. The Wilson Park is approximately 900 ft North of Dollarhide parking structure. Keep all personal items at home or on-person. No lockers available.
Race Packets:
Race packets include a bib, medal, giveaways, and raffle ticket. (And T-shirt if ordered)
Event Check-in:
When checking in for the event, locate the Compton Run Club table/tent. Be prepared to provide your name.

Virtual Race:
For virtual races, complete your 5k on 8/19/23 and tag the Compton Run Club on social media in a story or post. Packets will be mailed the week following the in-person event.
Shipping Packets:
For packets that need to be shipped, add how many packets to be shipped in the section. The following screen will request address.
Yoga:
If participating in yoga, please bring a yoga mat.
Raffle:
Each race packet will have a raffle ticket. Be sure to locate your ticket.
Route:
Starting line is on Alameda north of Compton Blvd. Participants will head south on Alameda to Caldwell St and back. Two loops for 3.1 miles.
