226ERS UCI Gravel World Series - Girona - Sea Otter Europe

The 226ERS UCI Gravel World Series Sea Otter Europe Girona 2025 route has a distance of 107.22km with 1828m of accumulated positive gradient and runs through the heart of one of the best-known massifs in the area, the Les Gavarres Massif. Starting in the neighbouring town of Girona, in Juià (in the Càrniques Juià area ) and with the first kilometres neutralised by asphalt until starting a path with a considerable and prolonged slope until reaching the top, crossing a road, to enter a mountainous area. A chain of wide tracks, with firm and compacted terrain ideal for the practice of the discipline that will take us to look for flatter terrain through crop fields and rural areas. Later, at around kilometre 46, a tough climb begins to one of the highest points of Les Gavarres, the Puig d'Arques (533m), with a somewhat technical descent given the irregular orography of the terrain. Once the descent is over, there are constant ups and downs of low gradient and length along wide paths surrounded by lush vegetation until reaching a very flat and fast part to impose a high pace and before facing the last climb of the day. Finally, the route will continue parallel to the course of the Ter River to reach the Girona-Fontajau Municipal Pavilion, in the middle of the Sea Otter Europe Girona Costa Brava festival.
