The Lauren Vaughn Memorial Foundation hosts an annual walk/run event at Alexandria Senior High School's softball field. This memorial event honors Lauren Vaughn's legacy and supports the Lauren Vaughn Memorial Scholarship at NSU for aspiring nurses. It also aims to raise awareness for issues of drunk and impaired driving. Awards are given to top male and female finishers, as well as individual age groups in both races. Participants are encouraged to register early to ensure they receive a race shirt and medals. Funds raised contribute to the scholarship supporting future nurses in the Accelerated BS to BSN Program.
