Ljubljanski/Ljubljana Marathon

I ran 10km, 50min36s. The rainy weather evaporated under the influence of the energy of over 10,000 participants.

My first half marathon! I just started running, so this was my first challenge. I am now training to do the full marathon and I hope Ljubljana Marathon 2020 will happen despite the current Covid-19 situation. My experience with the 2019 version was good: cheerful crowds, well organized, and overall a nice route for running. I recommend it!

A nice flat route through the city of Ljubljana, the capital of Slovenia.

Ljubljana Marathon is a very well organized run with about 1500 runners for the full marathon and more than 5000 participants of the half marathon. Even if the course is not steep anywhere you have to take into account that there are about 300 meters of difference in altitude over the whole distance. That is a lot for a city marathon. However, the course never gets boring. Either you run through living area districts where people watch the runners in front of their houses or through a forest or over broad streets outside of Ljubljana with excellent view to the mountains. Especially on the first half of the race you will get much applause from spectators, as well as in the end when you pass the beautiful old center of Ljubljana. I actually can recommend to participate here. And if you do so - do not miss to visit the old castle and to go to downtown in the evening. Enjoy the great atmosphere of this nice city! Awesome race with one circle, very well organized. The race is flat and fast. Start and finish is in the old city centre. I will run it again next year. Beautiful city, lots of happy runners.

moj drugi maraton....organizacija na ne baš visokom nivou, okrijepne stanice, iako ih je bilo dosta nisu baš popratile sve zahtjeve (voće u lošem stanju, voda za piće direktno iz hidranta i sl.), zato je atmosfera uz stazu zasigurno na vrlo visokom nivou....bodrenje navijača cijelim putem. Ukupan dojam pokvarilo jako loše vrijeme, kiša koja je padala skoro cijelo vrijeme

drugi istrčani maraton ipoboljšano vrijeme za 15-tak minuta!!!
