Lions on the Leon Captain "D" 5K Fun Run/Walk

The 2nd Annual Lions on the Leon Wacky & Cardboard Boat Race and Picnic in the Park is coming up Saturday, October 5th; and we're expecting it to be bigger and better than last year, hosted by the Belton Lions Club!  We've even added a Captain "D" Dash 5K Fun Run/Walk - Pirate Costume Optional.
There will be music, food trucks, vendors, pumpkin decorating, face painting, Quacky duck pond, inflatable games, raffle/auction and more.
The 5K Fun Run/Walk/Crawl travels throughout Heritage Park; ending at the Picnic in the Park, where every registered 5K participant will receive a custom commemorative spinner Race Medal.  Come in Pirate Costume to compete for an award or come as you are! 
Bring the family and enjoy a fun morning of running or walking in Heritage Park along the Leon River in Belton, Texas. The Run will begin at 10am, traveling the roadway and paths throughout Heritage Park with views of the lake and nature.  This is not a timed event, but is very close to a 5K.  The Fun Run/Walk will end at Picnic in the Park, for you to enjoy the music, food, games and entertainment.
People's Choice judging for the Wacky and Cardboard boats begins at 11am; and race heats will start at 1pm.
The event will be held rain or shine.  No Refunds.
$25.00 adults if you pre-register, Children age 6 and under are free and must be accompanied by a registered adult. 
Online Registration ends Wednesday, October 2nd. 
Run/Walk day registration from 9:00-9:45am at the Fishing Pavilion on the River - down the hill from the parking lot.
Run/Walk day registration: $30.00 adults.
Strollers are Welcome!
